WBSF
WBSF is an international Swing festival that welcomes more than 400 people from many countries and continents.
Guests: international teachers of the highest level, the finest Swing bands and disciplines such as Lindy Hop, Tap, Solo Jazz and Solo Blues are and always were the founding pillars of the festival. Creating a genuine atmosphere on the dance floor.
It is a project of my own that I created, directed and organised for seven years. Starting from nothing, in a place with no knowledge of Swing and no social dance culture.
Artistic direction and organisation from beginning to end.
A love of African American dances, and the wish to offer the chance to dance to people who had never had access to dance or to culture, were what set this project off. Everyone has a right to dance and to culture. Dancing is how we express who we are, how we tell what is happening to us, how we connect with others. And Swing teaches us how.
As Antonio Gades would say: “Dance belongs to the people, and is born by and for everyone”.
